Slowly the PNW is starting to have more and more sunny days. With those sunny days come more drives, hikes, and outdoor adventures.
This past weekend we drove up to the North Cascades for the second time since moving here. The first time we visited it was very foggy, cloudy, and rainy. Luckily we were able to see the mountain peaks during this trip.
It was incredible!
We love visiting Diable Lake not only for its beauty, but also because it is easy to drive to.
There is really only one road in the national park and it drives right past the lake. No hiking needed for this incredible view.
Since it is early April, we were the only ones at the overlook for quite a while and it was a new experience. We could hear the dam in the distance and the wind blowing through the tree boughs.
I can’t wait to visit again when we have more time (and energy!) to hike some of the trails in the park. I’m sure there are even more worthwhile views after a short hike.

Are there any places you enjoy visiting without planning a huge excursion? We would love to hear your suggestions and ideas!
Much love,
Chelsea
