Such a dreamy weekend get-away!
This year around our anniversary was a bit crazy, with Zach graduating grad school and his family visiting around the same time, we didn’t get to go on a big trip this year. We went to the Hoh Rainforest, which was amazing, but not the usual out of town adventure we usually take. With that in mind, Zach decided to plan a surprise get-away a couple of weeks ago for our “out-of-town” trip.
The trip started off with a ferry ride up to Victoria from Seattle. The trip usually takes 2 hours, but ours took around 5 due to a long detour because of choppy waves. These were some of the bigger ones we saw!
After checking-in to our hotel, we went for our first High Tea! We had a traditional British tea with our own teas of choice, and little tea snacks. It was so much fun! I’ve been wanting to try something like this since I was a girl, and it made me so giddy to do it in real life, not just read about it in a book.
While in Victoria, we also went to the British Columbia museum. We had the opportunity to learn more about BC history, as well as see an Egyptian exhibit they had on display.
One of my favorite things was the food! We were able to try so many new cozy places like coffee shops, pubs, and restaurants.
We tried so. much. food. Best trip ever just because of the cozy vibes of every place we tried and the food being amazing. 10/10 for sure.
We really loved Fan Tan Alley. It was a tiny alley that had lots of shops and a couple of restaurants. So cute!
It was such a lovely time of relaxation. It’s one of the first trips I’ve taken where we haven’t had many plans or expectations (mostly since I didn’t know until the last minute). We only looked up a couple things to do before we went, and just winged the rest! I would love to go back in the summer as well as I have heard that the gardens there are beautiful!
I am so thankful for a trip away, and thankful for Zach for planning it. It was a much needed time of getting out of our normal routine and trying something new.
Much love.
