Skagit Valley Tulip Festival – 2019

We couldn’t stay away from the tulips in the valley again this year.

Spring is truly one of the best times of year here in the PNW. Especially in the city as there are so many flowers blooming along the sidewalks and pathways, making Seattle seem a bit more magical.

Last year we really enjoyed driving out of the city to farm country to see the tulips, so we decided to make a trip again this year.

Last year we explored one of the main stops, Tulip Town in Skagit Valley. This year we decided to skip the busier areas that seem more touristy, and just decided to stop at the random fields along the Tulip Festival path.

These fields are available for exploring as long as they are marked on the map for the event or have a parking area. Since we drove up north a bit earlier in the day, we were able to find free parking and entered the free field. This was a major improvement from last year as we spent money on parking, an entrance fee, and over-priced food at the event.

We really enjoyed seeing such a bright burst of color on a dreary day, and of course the misty mountains in the distance.

I love the tulip fields and will continue to visit them year after year as they bring me so much joy after the long Winter.

Do you have local festivals in your area? Which ones should we visit?

Much love,
