Devil’s Tower 2020

Another huge rock? Sign us up!

On our laidback anniversary trip we had the opportunity to visit Devil’s Tower National Monument on our way back home. An hour off the main highway, America’s first national monument is worth the detour.

Honestly, what an awesome place this is! While it is a little out of the way, Devil’s Tower National Monument is an incredible sight. We wish the photos gave it true justice! Even when driving towards the Tower, it can be hard to grasp just how large it is. Luckily, we were able to get upclose and personal with some of the boulders that have fallen!

We were a bit short on time, but we did go on the Tower Trail. This trail is about 1.5 miles, with quite a few benches for resting. The trail is flat and paved and made for an easy activity.

We did drive a little away from the tower as there were some other trails to the West of it, but we didn’t have time to do any additional hikes.

After our visit, we ate our picnic lunch at Devil’s Tower Trading Post. There are plenty of tables outside and lots of cool alien merch in the store. We definitely recommend this as a fun stop on your next road trip!
